After I completed my NNEB diploma I worked as a nanny for ten years, with four different families. When I’d completed a diploma in child psychology I began employment in a nursery, working my way up, progressing to manager and acquiring  an NVQ  Assessors award in the process. I now have an NVQ level 4 in Childcare and a qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management. Opening my own nursery, Simply Cherish, was a dream and ambition fulfilled.

I began my career in Early Years in 2007 as an assistant nursery nurse making my way up to my current role as manager. My biggest passion is that all children feel safe, valued, accepted, appreciated and heard. This foundation creates an opportunity to learn. My role as manager is to oversee that collectively we reach our goals.

Ater completing my childcare qualification at college I have worked in nurseries for over 30 years. I started out as a nursery nurse and worked my way up to different levels of management. Here at Simply Cherish I am able to put all the skills I have learnt over the years together, in order to support the team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children to flourish and reach their full potential.

I started my career in childcare as an apprentice in 2006, I gained my level 3 qualification and went on to gain  a level 3 SENCO qualification also.

I feel my main passion is with SEND children. I am a mum of 3, one of whom is SEND. I feel I have good personal and professional experience within this sector giving me the tools I need to support all children and their families during their time here at Simply Cherish.
